I have a security issue with my 2002 chevy impala. I let it sit 10 mins and it
usually resets and the car starts. My battery died when I was doing this and I
took it to bee charged and found it was bad, so replaced it. It had been out of
the car for 24 hours, now it wont start. I need to know ow to reset my
computer since there has been no battery keeping the memory.

When you say you usually let it sit 10 mins it resets. This has me concerned, how many times have you had to reset this? why have you had to reset this? Yes the reset procedure is to let leave the key on for ten mins then shut it off then try to crank If it does not start you do this up to three times. But if you are doing this on a reg basis you need to have your ignition switch replaced, As Jim has stated there is a recall on a large number of GM cars and yours may be one of them.
I was told (after the fact) that changing out a battery you have to maintain the 12v circuit on the vehicle or you lose memory. OK how do you fix the problem after driving it 300miles and the codes don't clear? Hmmmm? Well why didn't the manual warn us against this. Ooooh I know, so you have to take it in for certified repairs.
the battery died on my 2001 impala, and it hasn't started since. I thought it was my starter, but I ran a jumper wire and it turns over, but my fuel pump isn't kicking on. I spray gas in and it starts for a second, so I know its not that.
