2003 F150 Theft Light Stays on

Asked by Tldave Feb 14, 2017 at 01:19 PM about the 2003 Ford F-150 XL LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 F1 50 standard cab. It has no power
windows no power locks no key fobs.  This is just a
standard old F1 50. However the theft light is on and stays
on all the time. The engine starts and runs fine even
though the theft light is on. It's just annoying and I would
like to figure out why it's on.

The theft system may be in fault mode, it will be activated but still allow engine to run, as it assumes there is a component failure versus someone actually stealing the car. Look up your vehicle's anti-theft system and see what triggers fault mode.

My 2002 theft light on the dash blinks all the time. I don't think it means anything.
