Should be located next to the thermostat housing. Is your coolant level light on as well?

Look on u tube.rher are videos that will be helpful. Might have to have radiator flushed.
The water pump could be the problem if you never put new one on,to confirm this before you replace it,crank car remove radiator cap, wait for thermostat to open, you should see the water circulate in the radiator,if not it will be the water pump.

Are the radiator fans coming on ? Also would not hurt to clean radiator fins maybe partially clogged with dirt and bugs restricting air flow across radiator.
Its the coolant temp sensor. Unplug it and rplug it in. This will fix the car saying ac hot and temp dropping to 0. If your car does it sometimes this will fix it unplug and clean coolant temp sensor.
I have a 2007 Chevy Impala with the error code engine hot AC off and the temperature gauge is not working I have changed the thermostat and the temperature control sensor but still no luck what else could it be
