see if injectors are firing normal , check the plugs , and wires

Maybe you need new O2 sensors. What type of driving and what is the actual mileage?

Mostly highway and interstate and the actual miles is 182370. I would like to change the plugs and wires but the 3 valve 5.4 is bad about breaking the plugs and I can't have it down. Is there a way to test the injectors without pulling them out of the truck?

Buy the spark plug removal tool. soak the plugs with penetrating oil overnight and change them! You can't expect the truck to run properly with worn out plugs.

Agreed I am looking into getting a beater to drive so that I can have this one down if need be but it is running good just so expensive to drive

Definitely change the plugs, and after doing to, check for codes. I'd also remove and chean the throttle body. Research the proper way to remove it and to reset the PCM after cleaning. Could also be your driving habits. I thought my little driven 2010 F 150 with 4.6 3V with 49K had a problem. Mechanic found none. Filled the tank, drove 100 miles on interstate in winter with cruise nailed at 60 mph then checked with pencil and paper approach. Turned out I was getting 23 mpg.
