check engine light on for month, now off. does it go off after a time period or did the problem solve itself?

Sometimes certain codes will reset after so many starts (or cycles)l. Nothing in or on a vehicle fixes itself.

Agree,may have been a lose wire on a sensor,or a sensor acting stupid,and if it was acting stupid,,that light will be back on shortly.

Sometimes a bad tank of gas or even a loose gas cap can set it off
