Hello,  I put Mercon V in my transfer case. Was supposed to be mercon.  
Sh##.  I hear motorcraft xl12 is replacement for Mercon.  Any others?  
Mercon LV?

I would drain it and install the correct stuff. I have posted a lube chart that will show up later.

Mercon V is NOT recommended for transfer cases. It states that right on the bottle. You need Mercon LV as it replaced Ford's Transfer Case Fluid a short while back. Plain old Mercon will work also, but it is hard to find. I would NOT use any other than a Ford fluid for it.
