2006 F150 WWhining noise when start up

When I star the truck up there is a loud whining nose. If I rev up the engine it gets louder and faster. When I put it in reverse r drive it stops. If I shift to neutral it starts again. The transmission will intermediately pull hard or jerk. The sound does not seem to becoming from under the hood, but under the body.  Automatic transmission.
