Truck dies when weather get warm when driving or sitting steal and won't turn over or nothing but can wait 15 min and truck will crank right up , what's up with that .does it only in the summer time

I had that happen to my 86 ranger. Turns out there was a very small Crack in the distributor cap. Heats the crack expands.
