Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my battery light has been coming on, so i checked my batteries out, they checked out
to be ok, then checked the alternator, it checked out as bad, so i replaced it, now the
new one will charge some times, and then it won"t, any one else have this problem?
any solutions? all replies will be greatly appreciated. oh ya, i checked the voltage
regulator for continuity and it checked out ok, but i know that it still could be bad,
maybe, and all the connections are good and tight.

Take it back and get another alternator. The regulator is bad in the one you have now.

i will do that and see what happens, but i think i will also check the cable coming from the alternator going to the batt a once over to make sure that it is not being grounded out, thanks for your input there TUFF4X4.

There is a 510 ohms resistor at the check battery light check that if it is loose or broken your circuit won't be complete and the battery won't charge. I know its stupid but it happend to me.
