Why can't I turn the key in the ignition

Question type: General

My ignition won't turn to crank car. It turns back but not forward. It feels like
it's locked. The steering wheel is not locked however.

Try rotating steering wheel left and right if not, try spare key, if still cant turn it, replace switch cylinder
