Chevrolet Traliblazer computer issues
Asked by dan_landolakes Aug 02, 2011 at 10:24 AM about the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT RWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Ive been having some major computer problems with my trailblazer.
Here are the symptoms : The ac shuts off when im driving, the radio display it says "needs amp". My radio will stop n start again. I cannot get my keys out of the ignition. and I cannot get it out of park. and lastly, the only way I can cut the power is by
unhooking the battery cable so it kills the power.
the engine is fine, its starts up fine.
ive checked the fuses, all of them seem to be in tact.
any ideas would greatly appreciated...

Don't know if you've found your problem yet or not, sounds like it may be a loose wire/intermittent connection. Have you tried to disconnect the battery and leave it disconnect for at least 30 min? This will reset the PCM (computer) to factory defaults.

I have 2005 Chevy trailblazer 4.2l ??? Does. It has key chip?
There is a ground that controls all of that. If you go to the passenger side front. The carpeted part of the center console down by your feet there will be a couple screws. Take those out pull the peace back and you will see a giant block of grounds with one Bolt. That ground controls the gear release to the brake pedal, the ignition to get your key out, radio, instrument cluster, heater controls, doors, and vent controls... I would start there make sure you have a good connection and it's clean you might even have to run a ground from the battery to the underneath the car were that bolt runs into. If no other issues more than likely that's your problem.
I replaced my sending unit/fuel pump, now car will crank but not start, I did not disconnect negative cable from battery; how do I reset computer x?
