You have a vacuum leak either in the engine compartment or under your dash
When the system loses vacuum it defaults to defrost for safety reasons. Look for a broken or disconnected vacuum hose in the engine compartment. You have a vacuum reserve tank either in the driver's side front fender or attached to the underside of the hood. It will look like a black plastic ball or a black square box. It will have two vacuum hose connections on it. Trace the vacuum hoses from there and look for a break in one of the hoses. Hope that helps! Jim
All I had to do was take the fan out and turned out it was full of leaves and I popped it and it was great and still is. The relay beside the blower is connected to the fan motor so it has to disconnect from fan motor
And I ended up having to change resistor also that went out later and also if you can get air for back seat in the middle of the seats I would definitely try fan motor and resistor and please don't take accuators off they are so hard to get to and so I am just saying what I had to do with mine
