Can an old battery cause the instrument panel to slowly quit

Asked by dollar12man Mar 01, 2016 at 01:44 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer LTZ 4WD

Question type: General

The passenger mirror was broken-that day water from rain dripped on gas pedal area-3-4 days later the battery light stays on plus seat belt brake and abs light the oil gas water and charging gauges do not work.one day later the odometer and speedometer do not work also. Mirror has ben repaired so no water is dripping. We have had a problem with the lights dimming while the engine is on but the battery gauge registered fine and it started fine. But every since the mirror and drip incident the other problems have occurred.

Sounds like a big expensive problem. Water on electrical/electronics is the biggest no no. You're going to need to find an electrical EXPERT, not someone that can work on electrical problems.
