Ford F350 5.4 Shaking

Asked by GuruHP45Q Jan 22, 2021 at 11:20 PM about the 2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty XL LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 05 F350 with the 5.4 triton. It has been
shaking while I'm driving, usually starts shaking
when I reach 65, run fine at 70 but if i go past that
it starts shaking again. Sometime around 50 it will
shake as well. Thought it was ball joints but I
replaced them, wheels and tires are balanced. I'm
thinking, driveshaft?, torque converter? I have also
heard bearing in rear differential could be the
issue. Any ideas?

This might be the infamous Super Duty death wobble. Some say it is from a bad track bar. There are aftermarket solutions for that problem but it could be from any worn steering or front suspension part. I would have the whole front end checked.
