fan speed for heater/ac

Hello here is the problem, my heater and ac both work but only on high. when I try to turn
the control to a lower setting the knob turns but the air/heat comes out high only. is there
a way I can fix this or is it a sign that the fan/blower is going out? Thanks

The blower resistor sits on top of the blower motor, and controls the lower speeds by reducing voltage to it as determined by the fan setting you select. AFAIK Fords only have one fuse for the blower motor. You should start troubleshooting at the switch, as JS above suggests. The blower motor is most likely not the problem, since you say it is working. What isn't working is the reduction in voltage required for the slower speeds, possibly indicating the resistor or selector switch as faulty. As an aside, sometimes a blower motor can draw too much current and lead to a premature death of the blower resistor.
