I have a 2006 Ford Taurus. It intermittently will suddenly use a lot of gas. Like 25 mpg
to 12 mpg. Then it will be okay. I have tried seafoam twice and other products. It is
mostly okay but sometimes the mpgs will suddenly drop...randomly. I've had codes
checked and all seems to be well. It does have a lot of miles on it.

I just had the plugs, wires and coil changed. Still doing the same thing. Can you tell me more about the throttle body?
I think I got it. I will try cleaning the throttle body. Thanks so much.
From what I read the throttle body does not cause that issue. I have also replaced the fuel filter, and air filter.

I have the same problem in my 2004 taurus SE. I don't have alot of miles at all. It's actually low miles for the year. And your right throttle body doesn't cause that issue. I'm trying to find out the problem myself. ....I've been told to drop the fuel tank and replace it. But I don't smell fuel maybe three times out of 6 or 7 months and it could of been on me. No check light on either
