i have 98 honda crv - started it up this am and the brake light on dashboard lit up! (never saw that before) the emegency brake was not engaged , it has been raining for several days (that's rare in texas) the brake fluid is filled properly, i drove to work with the light on ,after about 20 miles i noticed it was off.. later it came back on then off then on again

Sometimes the fluid level looks deceptive by looking at the side of it. Actually remove the cover and inspect. If fluid is good move the float level my hand to see if it moves freely. IF that is good next time you see the light on disconnect the two wires to it and see if the light goes out. Sounds like a bad level sensor. Get back to me if it is still on with the wires disconnected. ( You will have to do the same with the emergency brake switch to test out that switch as the problem too )
Check the rubber bushing that rest between the contact point between the brake pedal switch and the brake pedal itself. If that rubber grommet is missing, then the switch will not get any resistance from the brake pedal, leaving this switch in an open position, which is what sends power to the brake lights, aka pedal is depressed.
Had ac on charged it in the morning cold air blowing out drove it 10 miles at most the noticed light came on and had hot air blowing out also checked belt and fluid levels emergency brake was pulled and then disengaged.

@gibril_120 I will be awaiting an answer for your question also :) Same lights with mine minus the SBS and gearbox. But my check engine is on...that I know why, but the others I do not. I was not aware in the state of Texas you will not pass the emission inspection with brake light on. Ive checked fluids, jiggled the handle, replaced the bushing and nothing. :(

I just found this if anyone would like to give it a try and see if it works. I am unable to try until this evening. https://www.rensselaerhonda.com/activating-deactivating-honda-cr-v-automatic-parking-brake/
