Asked by GuruVHYSS Aug 25, 2018 at 01:56 AM about the 2000 Honda CR-V LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1.  Genuine Honda ATF-DW1 (a replacement for Z1) is a synthetic base
transmission fluid, whereas ATF-Z1 (old version) is a mineral base
transmission fluid .... Is it correct ?
2.  Can an old generation 2000 Honda CR-V be refilled with 3 qts of Honda
ATF-DW1 (to mix with originally old atf) when making transmission fluid
change due to ATF-Z1 was discontinued sale on market ?
3.  Does it required to be completely drained the remaining old ATF out ?

Thanks for asking .... ‘cause I am having same questions as you do, and waiting to reply. Expert, please help if you are so sure 100%, I went to Honda Dealer Dept. of Service and Parts, people have many years service there could not answer my question, they don’t even know (or don’t want to tell) one is mineral base while other is synthetic, .... very disappointed because this is very basic common knowledge for such broad consumer population industry, transparency is still withheld abusively.
