fuel use problems

You might be looking at replacing the O2 sensor, fuel consumption goes up quite a bit when it fails but it does normally come with a warning (or check engine) light.

do a tune up...spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter, PCV valve fuel filter and an oil change...

MAS sensors, gone. That sensor tells the computer how much air is going thru your intake. When the sensor fails, in signals lots and lots of air. So the computer, gives alot more fuel to keep the mix good.
