My check engine light came on and so I did the norm and checked all the fluids. I noticed my oil was deathly low so I added half a quart. My oil level is fine now but what's going on with the engine light?

similar problem in our 2005 crv. maintenance light , sending mis- fire codes. had timing chain guides, tensioners replaced. all okay since. if oil is low in these cars then tensioners wear quickly and chain gets slack and sensor reads as timing problem. this is what I was told.
