My check engine light came on and so I did the norm and checked all the fluids. I noticed my oil was deathly low so I added half a quart. My oil level is fine now but what's going on with the engine light?

The most common CEL is from a faulty sensor. If you visit an auto parts store most of them will let you borrow a code reader ...(most simply plug into a socket under the dash) If they are a little slow then sometimes a person will walk outside to help you /// AutoZone is a good store to try

similar problem in our 2005 crv. maintenance light , sending mis- fire codes. had timing chain guides, tensioners replaced. all okay since. if oil is low in these cars then tensioners wear quickly and chain gets slack and sensor reads as timing problem. this is what I was told.
