Actually if its the High Output 4.3 then yes its 195 HP. But the Vortec 4.3 made 185 Stock. I know because I still own a 96 SS myself I got in 98. I have souped mine up some. It now has about 265 horsepower and sounds like the V8 it technically is. The 4.3 is a 350 small block minus 2 cylinders. The stock wheels on it are 16 × 7s if that helps anyone now.

Also the non ss version of the S-10s made only about 160 Horsepower.

Wikipedia suggests the Xtreme replaced the SS. package, but doesn't list power for the Vortec engine fitted in the SS. Can someone please confirm whether the Vortec engine in the Xtreme version had a higher output than the normal Vertec engine? Thanks!
