Fuel Pressure Regulator on Spider Question

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is the back valve (pictured) on my spider fuel injector not supposed to leak. I suppose this portion is called the fuel pressure regulator assembly. I'm kind of new to this part of the engine so not sure if a drop when I pressurize the line is not a good thing or normal. Thanks!

..well golly, if it is leaking at that location, you must replace it. good luck, looks like a project.

Thanks, I just ordered an entire injector since this one may be aged. I just had the fuel pump replaced which may have contributed to having proper pressure in the entire system which may have prompted the leak which tells me that maybe this unit is getting tired. Instead of patching one leak, I opted for the, perhaps overkill logic, of replacing the entire unit. =)

Actually, replaceing the whole spider is the safest way. Some of the replacement regulators aren't of the best quality, and may fail within a year. But yes that is the pressure regulator and they are notorious for leaking. Darn ethanol.
