Chevy s10 problem

I had to change the alternator an I forgot to
unhook the battery before I took the cables
off the alternator now the truck has nothing
I changed the battery an the alternator an
checked the fuses an still nothing help
please it's a 97 s10 4.3 6cyl 5speed ext
cab 2wd

Double check the main under hood Alternator fuse and all your wiring connections are they tight and correct?

Yes all connections are clean and tight what main an where ? The relays i have no way of checking them oh pretty sure all fuses are in cab by driver side door correct?And none of the fuses blew i dont even get a hood light with new battery an alternator iwas so stupid for not disconnecting the battery firt

To late to worry about it now Mike check this...under the battery...mounted to the core support...Power distribution box. It's a 12 or 16 gauge fusible link (blue color) 1997? that's built into the power wire of the alt. Follow the wire to wherever it leads (either the bat, starter relay, or power junction block).

Its a green wire on my truck idid find it it connects to the battery an alternator just change that an it should work

Its like $40 if i buy the possitive side should fix the issue or would i need to buy the negive side too
