01 Camaro replacement keys activates alarm and security light on dash

I recently lost both' my ignition key, and car door key for my 2001 camaro.
I purchased two new keys for the ignition and doors from a chevy dealer
only to find out when i went to unlock the car with the door key the alarm
sounded and didnt stop for up to 4 minutes after i shut the door. I tried it
again, alarm sounded once more, so i tried starting it with the new vatt key
and the alarm sounded as i tried to turn it over. The car has started up
without a hitch before i lost the keys, but would not even attempt to turn
over with i turned the key. that's when i noticed the security light was on.
after that, i locked up the car once more, locked it up with the car key and
waited for the alarm to stop. once it stopped i tried to unlock again. Again
the alarm sounded, would not turn over, security light remained on. At first
i thought it was the chip in the vatt key that was not letting the car turn
over, but I've had a similar issue with a jeep grandcherokee that when i
opened the back trunk, the alarm sounded, and would not run or start
properly. i later found out it was the anti-theft system that locked the car
down. Please help its literally abandoned on the side of the road, no way
of towing it because i cant put it in neutral.

They should have told you that the keys will not work properly when you got them from the dealer. I am truly sorry I don't have a solution.... but you are mistaken on it can't be towed. It can be winched up on a flatbed, no damage. The tires may skid on the bed of tow truck but not damaged or put on dolly if no flat bed is available. They do it all the time, from repos to illegal parked. A locked unattended car can be snatched in a heartbeat

Winching it onto a flatbed was my first go to option since its 4 inches off the ground, and all custom body kit, but i cant find a flatbed with the right dimensions to carry it. If the key from the dealer will not work properly then how would go about starting the car again?
Jim full deserves that 'best answer' I was throwing out guesses, but agree for what that's worth. Dealer can do but they are going to want your left arm

i paid 70 for a new Vatt key, and then 3 bucks for the car door key. But if what you say is true about it not being reconized, ill make sure i get a refund for the key, and try winching the car on a flatbed and trying another dealer that knows what their doing.
You will still need the key(s) since you lost all others. Returning it for a refund will get you nowhere. That is the price for a 'chip' key The computer must be programmed to recognize it... that's the thing here. But if there is another dealer within a reasonable distance..; by all means take it there.

Luckily their is three local chevy dealerships within 10 miles of the car, so one of them is bound to get it right.. returning it will hopefully get my money i lost in a key that doesnt work. im sure they will understand. thank you both for the advice.
I just hope they do give you your money back.... the key has been cut and is of no use to them, can't be re-sold. But good customer relations say to refund -
Most car keys nowadays can't just be purchased, even from a dealer. The dealer has to program the key and the car's security system of they won't start the car,. The dealer knew that and should havve told you.
Yes.. I had a similar problem. Bought a 95 camaro and the seller was telling me ..It runs, but,... there is a problem with security system..and it hasn't been starting. Basically after getting car, it wouldnt start and it must have been the wrong key. Couldn't even get it out their yard. The chevy dealer could not help me either. That's until I called a good friend of mine.. They came and bypassed the security system.. even found an extra key with chip in the car. The car fired right up.. Unbelievable.
MaroLover how do you bypass the system because I need to do that to get my car up and running.

Katizda1 there are several ways to bypass the security on a Camaro. The easiest of which is to remove the cover from steering column then with a piece of speaker wire handy you cut the yellow wire at bottom of column that runs towards the radio and splice the speaker wire into it re closing the circuit, run the wires behind the dash and through a small hole you make in the dash and then attach a toggle switch. Try to start and if light comes on flip the switch then start and your have bypassed anti theft, to allow your alarm to still work flip the switch before you get out and lock the doors
