Stalling when started, if the truck has been run for a while

Asked by ChevyS10ManVirginia Apr 24, 2019 at 05:53 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet S-10 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought a 1998 S10, had tires, alignment, and
oil change done. 260k miles. Ok, i didn't buy it my
son did before he bought his new car. I want to
make it reliable and perhaps restore a little bit at a
time. This problem occurs when the truck has been
driven and is stopped. My son would say if i dont
let it rest long enough. They replaced the air filter.
To me it acts kinda like it is flooded any change in
the throttle causes it to stall. it is a manual
transmission.

Try a tuneup but you may have an injection problem.

So, if i unplug the MAF sensor when it is doing it what should i expect? I checked visually for air leaks and it seems to not have any problems when the engine is cool.
