How do you troubleshoot a short in headlight wiring on a 98 s10?

Asked by Betty Dec 01, 2013 at 10:51 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet S-10 LS LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am having problems with lighting on my truck. Have replaced wiring and bulbs on my
tail lights. Had the wiring and sockets on the taillights tested, they are fine. I
discovered that the fuse under the hood had been blown, so I changed it. I had my
headlights set to come on automatically when I started my truck, and discovered that
caused the fuse to blow. I turned them on manually after I made the discovery. The
fuse still blew, therefore I am driving at night holding the brake for light. Any
suggestions?
