Asked by Fred Jun 16, 2017 at 11:52 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet S-10 LS LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My s10 stalls seconds after it starts right up and
stalls quicker when I give it gas. I removed the fuel
pump and noticed the orange clear tube in it had a
pin size hole in it but I had enough slack in it to cut
it and reattach . I thought it was the problem but
wasn't. Fuel pump sounds good I am leaning
towards fuel pressure regulator . If anyone has had
this problem or has any idea of what I can do I
would appreciate any Intel on this matter thx

Just because fuel pump sound,s good doe,s not mean it is pumping,did you check the fuel pressure?

I don't have a guage but I pushed down that pin under the green cap and nothing at at all came out . And also I did remove all hoses one by one on the fuel pump and tested to see if anything came out. Only one sprayed gas .

I changed the fuel pump and it worked but set me back 265 bucks thx for the advice
