Passenger side, you can see part of it through the fender well. Your truck has that security thing. It won't run without the key
If your truck wont start is it , 1)an ignition problem? related to the security system 2) a starter problem ? related to the ignition switch. 3)a starter problem related to the starter. cable connection at starter, solenoid ,or the solenoid itself. Look under truck passenger side. After locating the starter use a wire (if remote start switch isn't handy ) Touch the cable from battery to small wire terminal on solenoid. Starter should engage and crank engine. If it does its not the starter. If not there's your problem. I have a 2000 model the switch part of the key just quit.Had to replace. Remove air bag and steering wheel.
If your starter is bad, jump starting will not help. Ttrebor66 has some good advice. Make sure you have power to the starter first. The key switch may be at issue or a lose or corroded connection. The solenoid may be bad. Remove the starter and have it bench tested. My thought will be the ignition switch.
I got 2 starters neither work new batt new alternater new cables i dont get it
