hard to start

Asked by dfcfrisco Aug 18, 2015 at 11:25 AM about the 2001 Chevrolet S-10 LS Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Will not  start  but if  i shoot starter fluid in starts right  up and runs ok. Any one know
what might be the issue?

Check air filter and clean throttle body add Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner to gas tank.

Check for a vacuum leak as well...

Thanks for all the help, I got a loaner fuel pressure gauge from auto zone and check the pressure was only getting 49 psi which is below the requirement to start, so we replaced the fuel pump, starts like a new car now. again thanks for the support from all of you.
