is the fuel pump on a chevy s-10 2.2l engine in fuel tank?

It's in the gas tank. I don't know what testing you have done? Engine cranking, did you check voltage and ground at the pump, gray wire is voltage, black wire is ground. If voltage and ground both are good with no pump action then suspect the pump. Just my opinion.
