Check the resistance of the spark plug nipple - nipple and on the bottom check resistance between the two openings for the control module. While you look that up I'll dig into my old college notes to see if I can't find the specs. I do recall its something like the control module consists of 2000 windings of a wire and the spark plug side is 200,000 so the spark plug end will be significantly more resistant.

My notes must be at my dads house. I did however find this and instead of just posting the numbers I figured I would least you read. I know its a honda site but a coil is a coil is a coil, no matter who makes it, there is only 1 way to make a transformer/coil. http://www.crxsi.com/info/ignition- spark-plugs/IGNITION-COILS.htm

you could try putting a spark plug on the coil wire. then crank the truck over while watching to see if it sparks. no spark check to see if the coil has power
