Usually this is a head gasket problem, but it could even be a cracked head or block. If it is a V-6 you might get lucky with an intake manifold sealing problem. Pulling and inspecting the plugs could help a lot in locating the leak. Good luck! Otherwise drop in a V-8 and take it to the drag strip.

Thanks much. I may add that on a leak such as this I've never seen the stop leak products do anything except screw things up. I recently had problems with a Buick 350, and both head gaskets plus the intake gasket were all deteriorated. We installed a reconditioned set of heads ( great time to do a valve job) and a bunch of new parts. It has never run better. If your engine runs and sounds great I would recommend doing the same. The best of luck! We have to keep these old machines on the road.
