automatic trans fluid change

I have a 2003 chevy s10 2.2 engine, 117,600 miles. The trans shifts fine, but I
want to change my trans fluid and put fully synthetic to maintain it and help
extend its life.  Would this be a wise decision ?

I recently did this on my 2010 Subaru Outback. I think that this is a good idea.

You are way over due for a fluid change! I would go ahead with your plan and be sure and change the filter while you are at it.

Thanks for your replies. I forgot to mention, that the transmission fluid was changed prior to my buying the truck, and is still good. I personally wanted to change the fluid to synthetic by choice for better protection.
