My truck is bogging down in idle and while accelerating.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 v8 Magnum. Over
the course of a month my pickup does not want to
accelerate, it keeps jumping in and out of wanting
to die and not. Even during idle it will start wanting
to aggressively chug like it wants to die. Recently I
have changed the spark plugs and wires, oil, and I
have an exhaust that dumps right at the cab.
(Muffer and cat/o2 sensor were cut)

Could be several items.....one: When the actuator malfunctions, the engine gets no signal for idling speed and stops working. Clogged or restricted EGR Valve: If your EGR valve is clogged, dirty, or defective it can cause your car to stall, idle erratically, or sputter, depending on whether it is stuck open or closed.
2....it could be a dirty or faulty idle air control valve. While sitting in park with engine idling turn steering wheel all the way to the left. You should see your rpms increase while doing this then they should drop back to normal. Can also turn on ac. Your idle should increase then drop back to normal when you turn it off. If this does not happen I would look into cleaning the idle air control valve and throttle plate. Or even replacing the control valve. Is your check engine light on? If so what are the codes? Also if your egr is sticking open (item #1 I suggested) it can cause this to happen.
Dariusk my check engine light isnt on. I'll have to check more on the EGR valve tomorrow.
Yes.....I had same problem.....and found that the throttle valve (take off air filter assembly) to reveal......gets gunked up and take some of that carb cleaner spray.....u can buy at Auto Zone....like carb cleaner......just be careful on your aim.....don't hit the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor)…..go look at this video for an education https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRfaPfTcfOM
