Did you check if the temperature gauge works well? If not, the engine may be packing heat from dysfunctional fan/belt. Does your truck respond to fuel challenge when you need to power up? In which case you may have fuel filter problem if not dirty gas tank. Or may be electrical short circuit.
I had a cracked could that would give me fits.i kept getting different readings on my meter.it wasn't until I replaced the cap rotor, cam sensor ,and crank sensor.when I finally took the coli off for a swap check that I noticed the crack on the epoxy of the coil.

I had a 03 Ram 1500 p/u that quit running. Turns out that the #4 spark coil was bad and that the computer would not throw a code to let you know what the problem was. Replaced the spark coil and it ran good again.
