Stalls, No start code 37
1994 Dodge ram 1500 5.2 magnum 2wd, auto trans. Engine quit while driving. Would start and shut down after. Tried to start next day when cold, starts then immediately shuts down. Had a code 21, I assume the unsuccessful cold start rules out an O2 sensor. I disconnected the bat and cleared faults. Had a 37 before and it is still there after several fault clears and start attempts. Changed the air filter, ignition coil, no fix. It is a half ton so it apparently does not have a trans temp sensor. The code 37 talks of the torque convertor solenoid. Does this apply to the auto trans and where in the heck is the torque conv. solenoid located? There is fuel in the fuel rail. I haven't replaced the distributor rotor (camshaft pos sensor) yet as the distributor on these is at the rear of the block and a pain to work on. Ideas? I also checked the asd. fule pump relays and voltage to the ig coil, all good.
you probably will find two wires near the bell housing because the torque converter needs instructions to lock whenever required~ the torque converter is the donut-can in front of the transmission and holds near two gallons of fluid on it's own~, yes code 37 is an important one...look for two wires that may connect to the area of the bellhousing~ will search for a cartoon of this~

Been working on this one for awhile with my 91 Dodge b250. Replaced my 'transmission kickdown solenoid' just made it worse. Put the old one back in. Somewhat better. Going to try the relay and connectors. Also have code 41 to which I installed an external voltage regulator. Only time will tell now. 3 new batteries and an alternator tried before the evr.
