Engine swap in Dodge Ram

Asked by Tedkiraly Jan 03, 2015 at 09:43 AM about the 1995 Dodge RAM 1500 LT LB RWD

Question type: Car Customization

I am trying to find out what I will need to change out if anything.  I have a '95 Dodge Ram
1500 5.2L truck.  I just purchased an engine out of an engine out of a '99 Dodge Durango.
Also a 5.2L  Is this going to work ok or am I in for lots of modifications and changes?
Thank you for any info you can offer.

you will have to look at the oil pans if they are different then the pick up tube and pan will need to be swapped..you will have to swap the exhaust manifolds ...possible the front crank damper .alt,P/S pump,..maybe the intake and injectors you will have to look at the plugs on the injectors...also you might want to take the intake off and inspect the belly pan gasket they use to suck in and make the engine burn alot of oil...also be careful not to damage the flex plate it is the tone wheel for the crank sensor and denting it will mess up the engine makes it misfire and other weird things
