99% of the 1500 series trucks are sold with an auto because they are usually "weekend warrior" type trucks, and guys like the convenience of an auto when running out for a load of mulch, or to do some other errand. The stick is preferred in the heavier 2500 and 3500 series trucks because of the decreased wear on the manual transmission when towing as compared to the automatic. It's easier to find a heavier truck with a stick than a lighter one.

Most people prefer automatics. keep lokking they are out there. look at autotrader.com under advanced search you can search for manual transmissions. p.s. i drive a 95 ram 318 with a 5 speed stick and it rules.
