I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2. My issue is starting. Sometimes the check engine light comes on, starts, fuel pump shuts off, check engine light does not come on, fuel pump keeps running,no start?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have changed computers twice, all of the sensors, my mechanic has
disconnected everything it doesn't need to start as to eliminate more wiring
shorts.  I the check engine light comes on, the vehicle will start, but if check
engine light does not come on, just turns over and fuel pump (new, twice)
keeps running.

Until it gets in limp mode and overides the regular setting it will not run? And when its not cranking the fuel pump never get done with the priming and just runs and runs?

I have the same problem I’ve changed the crank sensor,Ignition switch, throttle control,Starter, Cleaned a lot of the wires the grounds anyways. When it starts runs real good but will not start unless all the lights register on the dash check engine light etc
