Does a 46re dodge transmission require fluid for the linkage to move through the gears on the column? The pan is down and we noticed it was stuck in park at the column and on the linkage.

Ok, my son bought it and the drive shaft fell off while in gear when the seller had it. Since my son has bought a junkyard od ext because the splines where messed up. It went into gear when the guy showed it but not now.

Take shifter linkage loose at tranny,do it by hand,if it move,s the issue is in the shifter cable.

Ok ill look into the tranny more this weekend. As it stands now it will not go into any gear at column or at the linkage
