Speedometer Not Working

Asked by Brokendodge1997 Jul 31, 2019 at 08:29 AM about the 1996 Dodge RAM 1500 LT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey everyone, new to forums. Let’s try this
again (last time it deleted or some shit).
Anyways, I’ve got a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500
Regular cab short box and had my A518
trans rebuilt because it was on its way out.
Prior to this my speedo worked when it
wanted to and now it doesn’t work at all. I
have cleaned every contact I could find,
replaced the VSS, the sensor on the diff and
the one behind the tranny pan. I’m having
shifting problems and this is the last thing I
could think of that could be causing it. It
doesn’t want to kickdown from overdrive so if
I’m not on flat road I will have my foot to the
floor and will be losing speed going up hill
(won’t go over 90ishkm/h on flat road, best
guess without Speedo). Any ideas would be
appreciated, thanks!
