if you have the 5.9/360 you follow the top radiator hose all the way youll need to remove the alternator, and AC compressor, once you remove both of those youll see two i believe they were either 9/16 or 1/2 bolts on top of the thermostat housing once you remove those you take off the fitting for the upper rad hose and theres your thermostat.

Wrong if you remove the air cleaner off the top of engine and then remove bracket that hold air cleaner, you'll be able to get to thermostat housing . Remove two screws 13mm on housing and viola!, your thermostat is right there. Btw the screw that hold the bracket are 14mm one long, one short. Who says women aren't car smart
