Why may my hazard lights work intermittently on my 96 dodge ram 1500?

Sometimes both lights will work, sometimes only one, and other times neither one.

could be the relay or it could also be your multifunction switch, relays cheaper try it first

yes the flasher is going out, turn it on a listen for its location, when you find it take it out bring it with you to the parts store
