Vent goes from vent to defrost or no vent with load on engine. Returns to vent when load reduces. 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie SLT 5.9 Ltr engine.

they are called vacuum accuator motors. they typically have spring on one side, and vacuum pulls against spring tension. when vac. goes away, spring tension takes over and accuator goes back to relased position.
