Possible causes po740: - Low transmission fluid level - Dirty transmission fluid - Faulty torque converter clutch solenoid valve - Torque converter clutch solenoid valve harness is open or shorted - Torque converter clutch solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection When is the code detected? Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) unlocked for 10 sec., ECM commands converter lock-up and did not record engine speed drop. Possible symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Transmission shift shock - Vehicle may not shift into the highest gear P0740 Dodge Description The torque converter clutch solenoid valve is activated, with the gear in D4, by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in response to signals sent from the vehicle speed and the Engine Control Module (ECM). Lock-up piston operation will then be controlled. When the torque converter clutch solenoid valve is activated, the torque converter lockup clutch will engage creating a 1 to 1 RPM ratio between the transmission input shaft and the rotational speed of the torque converter. Lock-up operation, however, is prohibited when A/T fluid temperature is too low. When the accelerator pedal is depressed (less than 2/8) in lock-up condition, the engine speed should not change abruptly. If there is a big jump in engine speed, there is no lock-up.

the fluid has been changed with no difference in shifting my 98 is a parts truck so I was wondering if the transmission will fit in my 97

It may, not sure, why not fix what you have in there? It sound like a solenoid that just is bad.

Looks like just the one, a torque converter clutch solenoid. The code does not indicate any other problems, and it doesn't sound like the trany is slipping. Solenoids going bad are a common problem with Dodge and can be repaired.

Possible causes po300: - Faulty spark plug (s) - Faulty ignition coil (s) - Clogged or faulty fuel injector (s) - Intake air leak - Fuel injectors harness is open or shorted - Fuel Injectors circuit poor electrical connection - Ignition coils harness is open or shorted - Ignition coils circuit poor electrical connection - Insufficient cylinders compression - Incorrect fuel pressure What does this mean? What does this mean? Tech notes The P0300 code means that a cylinder(s) is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks, intake gaskets are common caused of multi-cylinder misfiring. If no leak are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem, see "Possible Causes" When is the code detected? The control module monitors the crankshaft speed and has detected a misfire condition Possible symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Lack/loss of power - Hard start - Engine hesitation P0300 Dodge Description When a misfire occurs, engine speed will fluctuate. If the engine speed fluctuates enough to cause the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor signal to vary, the Engine Control Module (ECM) can determine that a misfire is occurring.

Now the po304 and po308 are the cylinders that there is a problem with....Possible causes po304 & po308 - Faulty spark plug 4 - Clogged or faulty fuel injector 4 - Faulty ignition coil 4 - Fuel injector 4 harness is open or shorted - Fuel injector 4 circuit poor electrical connection - Ignition coil 4 harness is open or shorted - Ignition coil 4 circuit poor electrical connection - Insufficient cylinder 4 compression - Incorrect fuel pressure - Intake air leak Tech notes The P0304 code means that the cylinder 4 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks an if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 4. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem,

could any of these codes or issues be the reason my cruise control does not work?
