I got a 1997 dodge ram 3.9 and the alternator was bad according to an alternator check and the battery died of course but when I jump started it it would run fine. Well I replaced the alternator

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Now it doesn't barely want to turn over even with jumper cables on
it.  It will start turning over faster when I give it gas and it will start
and run not very good as long as I hold the gas but when I let off it
dies and seems like the battery is dead when it is charged. So what
happen since the new alternator was put in?

Double check your battery connections. Make sure they are fully tight and clean.

Well guys it turns out the battery completely fried in that time frame and for some reason it just would allow the truck to run but its good now about $250 later
