1997 Dodge Ram 1500 v8 5.2l won’t start!

Asked by DodgeRamMan9 May 15, 2019 at 11:13 AM about the 1997 Dodge RAM 1500 LT LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I’m having maintenance issues with my truck, I
cleaned out the throttle body today and it ran fine
after so I know it’s not that, but after changing the
alternator it won’t start. It sounds like it’s about to
start but won’t go it just cranks. I tried giving it gas
and starting it, nothing .

Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs, if spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes? Those are the basic checks, in my opinion. Let us know what you find. Check your security system, where applicable.
