98 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 Starting issues

Asked by Austin Oct 27, 2016 at 11:32 PM about the 1998 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie SLT Club Cab LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck is having problems starting, I turn the key
and the starter just clicks one time and nothing
else. All gauges working. I can keep turning key off
and on and after doing that a few times, I can get it
to start. I looked at the battery connections and
their was a lot of corrosion, so I cleaned it up and
still does it, im thinking their is either a lot of
corrosion causing resistance in the wiring to the
starter or a bad starter or starter solenoid. Any
opinions, please help
