I have a 2004 Silverado and this is a common problem. The speedometer stops working or shows that you are traveling at 120 mph. You have to replace the whole board. The cam that controls the speed can break off. You can buy a board already repaired for prices ranging from 150-250.00. Or if you are handy with a solder gun, you can buy the cam parts and do it yourself. I have the same problem and have not dealt with it yet. Just look online for Chevy speedometer problems and you will find many sites that can deal with this issue.
