Front wheels hot to the touch.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Just changed the bearings and ball joints in the front of my
98 dodge 1500. The wheels get hot to the touch and I can
hear a low roaring noise at higher speeds. Any thoughts?

Did you pack them with grease? Maybe you over tightened them.

Even though they are sealed? Just picked them up from the parts store and installed them today. Looks like I'll be back at it tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

What shape is the spindle surface if its all rough or grooved or scorched replace the spindles too, make sure you seated them fully too.

Oops, it's a 1999 laramie 4x4. Receipt says sealed, non maintenance.

I just saw the 4x4 in the question, In that case check the job and see what is going on there its not suppose to roar when new, may be spindles or even something else, or may be another or one of the bearings in the front chunk
